CARPETING

Carpeting has made a genuine resurgence in both wall-to-wall installations and through the utilization of bound and surged rugs manufactured from carpet. Due to its soft feel, ease and comfort, carpeting has become a top choice in creating warm and inviting interior environments. Additionally, carpeting remains the top choice for installations where limiting sound transmission is critical. Traditionally, the two most popular carpeting materials are wool and 6.6 nylon.

Nylon 6.6 carpets and bound rugs offer the advantages of easy, maintenance with relatively economy. Advancements by manufacturers in producing superior performing carpeting, like Stainmaster carpet, have allowed new installations to be considered one of the prominent ways to achieve sought after returns on investment when considering home improvement options. New products offer design solutions that simultaneously offer sophistication and warmth, with many providing the look of natural sisal or sea grasses without the hard feel or potentially high cost. Other advantages of new nylon 6.6 carpeting include its ability to be manufactured in virtually any color and texture without affecting its overall affordability or performance.

Wool carpeting preceded the invention and development of nylon 6.6 carpeting. Until recently, wool offered advantages in design and feel but has always had the disadvantage of significantly higher cost. As a renewable resource, wool carpeting continues to have appeal to specific markets but has fewer advantages over nylon 6.6 fiber as technology continues to develop nylon products from both a performance and design standpoint.
